They said it was a meth lab, but ‘Parents were cooking their son in the bedroom’!

Authorities reported that responding officers were summoned to a mobile home in response to reports of a meth lab operating inside. However, upon their arrival, they discovered a horrifying situation unfolding in the bedroom.

Both parents, identified as Kathlen and Lucas, had barricaded themselves inside for several days, effectively turning one room of the mobile home into an oven, with tragic consequences.

The woman, who was pregnant at the time, had been awake for 38 hours, indulging in a methamphetamine binge with her partner. She admitted hearing noises from another room but prioritized her drugs over investigating.

When she eventually opened the door, she made a horrifying discovery – her 2-year-old son, Braydon, had succumbed to the extreme heat generated by a space heater left running.

In a shocking turn of events, the parents had intentionally locked their child in the room with the space heater set to high, with no thermostat to regulate the temperature, effectively creating a deadly environment.

To compound the horror, officers found that the mobile home had been condemned, marred by squalor and filth. Furthermore, the child was severely malnourished, having gone without food for days. Tragically, if the heat hadn’t claimed his life, starvation likely would have.

Disturbingly, this was not the first time the pregnant mother had brushes with the law. She still faced unresolved child endangerment charges from a previous incident where she was arrested for driving under the influence with a child in the car, resulting in the death of her son.

Consequently, she and her partner were sentenced to 21 years in prison for their role in the death of their 2-year-old, along with an additional drug charge.

This heartbreaking story resurfaces as recent reports indicate a surge in child abuse cases during the pandemic in America.
