Mariska Hargitay has donated $500,000 to the striking writers of the Writers Guild of America (WGA), according to popular American tabloid Deuxmoi.
Drew Barrymore, on the other hand, has announced that she is pausing the premiere of her daytime talk show, “The Drew Barrymore Show,” until the strike is over. The show’s return had drawn picketers from the striking writers’ and actors’ unions.
Hargitay’s donation is a major boost for the strikers, who have been on strike since November 2022. The strike has brought production to a standstill on many popular TV shows and movies.
Barrymore’s decision to pause her show is a sign of solidarity with the strikers. She said in a statement that she had listened to everyone and made the decision to pause the show’s premiere until the strike is over.
