Miley Cyrus Didn’t Make Money on ‘Bangerz’ Tour, Paid for It All Herself – Miley Cyrus revealed that she didn’t make any money from her 2014 “Bangerz” tour, even though it grossed over $68 million. Cyrus said that she paid for the entire tour herself because her team thought her visions were “too outlandish” to support.
“Everyone kept saying, ‘Why are you doing this? You’re gonna do like a hundred shows and you’re not gonna make any money?'” Cyrus told Rolling Stone. “And I said, ‘There’s no one I’d rather invest in than myself.’ So, I paid for it all to make it exactly what I thought I and my fans deserved.”
Cyrus’s “Bangerz” tour was a visually stunning production, with elaborate sets and costumes. She also performed a number of controversial stunts, including twerking on Robin Thicke at the VMAs.
Despite the controversy, the tour was a commercial success. It grossed over $68 million and sold over 780,000 tickets. However, Cyrus said that she didn’t make any money from it because she paid for everything herself.
“I lost money on that tour,” she said. “But I don’t care. I had the best time of my life.”
